Josiane Dagher – The Preschool Division
Since 1996, the Preschool Division was located in the Mary Mother of Wisdom Building. Due to the growing number of learners; reaching up to five sections per grade level, the division has earned its own location. The Preschool Division is now located in the Saint Paul Building at Sagesse High School.
The Preschool Division has its own identity and mission. It guarantees teachable moments that happen every day by promoting the intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical growth of our learners. We will also prepare them to become lifelong and committed learners. The teachers at the Preschool Division ensure a caring and cooperative environment that promotes strong ethical values, and supports a positive relationship and respectful interaction.
We follow the Common Core Standards that help our learners be prepared to enter a world in which colleges and businesses are more demanding than before. The Common Core State Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every learner should know and be able to do in math and English language, even at the Preschool level. The division encourages “play and learn” to set the bases in children, in order to enable them to acquire future knowledge, to understand concepts, to apply skills and develop a critical thinking that will lead them to a problem solving capacity. It is also worth mentioning that since 1996, it was officially decided to implement the Math Curriculum one level higher than the American Program.
The division has earned a positive reputation and the trust of the parents in registering their children at our school throughout the years. As a result, the MSA accreditation team said that “the Preschool’s educational program has exceeded expectations.”
